Games Are A Way Of Life

One of the loves of my life is board games. Now, I don't mean your usual Monopoly, Risk, or even Trivial Pursuit. You'll have to think Beyond Monopoly for this.

I love Power Grid, Ticket to Ride, Battle Lore, Age of Steam, and countless others. I have 338 games in my collection now.

I never imagined that I would ever own more than a dozen games of any type, whether that be digital or physical, but now I own so many. I never tout the number of games to brag, but I do so in amazement of just how much this hobby has grown on me and my family.

One of my favorite online haunts is Board Game Geek, and if anything that I have said so far interests you, then that's a good place to start.

Off To See The Wedding??!?

Well, my sister-in-law is getting married in a couple days, and I can't say that I'm all that excited about it. That's not to say that I don't like weddings; I do (pun intended). It's just taht the guy is a real putz that nobody likes. The sad part is, I think the guy likes it that way. Oh well, at least he makes her happy.

On the up side there is a fantastic local game store called Days of Knights, which we will be making a side trip to.

I cannot overstate just how awesome a store it is. It's one of those places that as soon as you walk in you get that "WOW" feeling. They have such a wide variety of every non-electronic game and rpg, including some very old and collectible stuff.

I cannot wait. Heh, I will also get a free lunch.....mebbe free beer...
